SAFETY AND ASSESSMENT OF CHEMICAL INDUSTRY FACILITIES

From April 23 to 25, 2024, in Bucharest (Romania), with the support of the Office of Threat Reduction of the Bureau of International Security and Non-Proliferation, the US Department of State, the US Civilian Research and Development Fund (CRDF Global), with the assistance of the Critical Infrastructure Security Service of the NSDC Apparatus of Ukraine and with the participation of experts from the USA, an in-person educational seminar "Safety and Assessment of Chemical Industry Facilities" was held.

The seminar was held with the participation of Viktoria PLAVAN, Head of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving, and Volodymyr KHOMENKO, Associate Professor of the Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences. The program of the seminar was opened by Viktoria Plavan's presentation on the state of the chemical industry in Ukraine under the conditions of Russian aggression and prospects of its development.

The participants of the seminar were familiarized with the knowledge and best practices regarding the independent assessment of chemical facilities in Ukraine, the assessment of the vulnerability of chemical facilities in operation; countering disinformation campaigns aimed at the chemical sector and assisting the Government of Ukraine in developing contingency plans to strengthen Ukraine's critical infrastructure.

The invitation of KNUTD researchers and professors to participate in such a significant event is an undeniable proof of KNUTD's vanguard role in training specialists of various profiles for the chemical industry of Ukraine, in particular, to strengthen its critical infrastructure.
