WE INVITE PARTICIPANTS IN THE KNUTD EDUCATIONAL PROCESS TO A PUBLIC LECTURE “SOCIETAL DYNAMICS OF TRAUMA: DOES WHAT DOESN’T KILL MAKE YOU STRONGER?”

as part of Psychology Week

The event will be conducted by Olena Sushiy, Doctor of Science in Public Administration, Associate Professor, Chief Researcher at the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, and visiting researcher at Matej Bel University, Slovakia.

The public lecture will be held on April 19, 2024 (Friday) at 13.30 in the classroom 4-0102.

All motivated participants in the educational process of the University can join the lecture.

The purpose of the event is to present the author’s concept of the societal dynamics of collective trauma and share original ideas that reveal the content and essence of trauma as a multidimensional phenomenon of mass consciousness and social life; as a long-term cumulative process that unfolds in specific historical, social, political, and cultural contexts; as a “place” where the past, present, and future intersect. The author will also offer a vision of the societal dynamics of trauma, which is engraved in the outlines of group identity, social attitudes and values, institutional formations and practices, and is mastered by a community that determines the meaning of its existence as a nation and a state.
