DEFENSE OF INDUSTRIAL PRACTICE REPORTS BY MASTERS OF THE EP “FASHION DESIGN”

During February-early March 2024, students of the "Fashion Design" educational program of the second (master’s) level of higher education underwent industrial practice at Ukrainian enterprises of the fashion industry – partners of the Department of Art and Fashion Design. The students had an opportunity to improve their knowledge about the development, formation and control of the main stages of the execution of clothing models at the project-experimental production of the design studio "i-CHEF by Irina Makhinko"; fashion brand "KASS" (sole proprietor B.V. Kass); fashion brand "FROLOV" ("Frolov Hart" LLC); "VOVK" brand (TOV "VOVK GROUP"); at the production of the sewing enterprise "VETERANKA" (sole proprietor H.Ye. Suvorkina); fashion brand "GASANOVA" (sole proprietor E.E. Damirova); design studio "TATYANA KOLOMIECZ" (sole proprietor T.V. Kolomiets), etc.

The main tasks of the industrial practice were the formation and analysis of the project concept for the development of fashionable clothes, the development of planning tools and the step-by-step creation of a project image, clothing model, the application of modern methods and technologies of working with materials in the design of clothing models.

As a result of the internship, the students deepened their knowledge of traditional and innovative methods of designing of clothing models; got acquainted with innovative processes and technologies of modern production of clothing for various purposes, according to the specifics of a particular enterprise, had the opportunity to practice all successive stages of creating and manufacturing models of fashionable clothing of various classes - from pret-a-porter de lux to uniforms.

The students also gained invaluable experience of cooperation with partners, presentation of created models to potential consumers, and responsibility for the quality of work performed at each stage of project development.

The future masters of fashion design demonstrated their achievements and the results of the industrial practice to the teachers of the Department of Art and Fashion Design. Olena Herasymenko, guarantor of the “Fashion Design” educational program of the second (master’s) level of higher education, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Nataliia Chuprina, head of the Department, Doctor of Art History, Professor, Iryna Davydenko, Associate Professor of the Department and others took part in the discussion of completed projects.
