On 27 October 2023, on the Day of Ukrainian Language and Literacy, the student and teaching community of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design joined the All-Ukrainian Radio Dictation of National Unity 2023. At our university, the event was held on the initiative of the chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organisation of Students Tetiana Sinkevych and the academic staff of the Department of Philology and Translation.

The participants gathered in the Academic Council meeting room held their breath, listening attentively to the touching and beautiful text of the dictation “Roads of Ukraine” written by Kateryna Kalytko, the writer and Shevchenko Prize winner. The text was read by theatre and film actor Oleksii Hnatkovskyi.

Everyone wrote diligently: “The roads of Ukraine are tangled threads of love, sometimes cut, but tied back together to be even stronger. There is nothing more beautiful than travelling across the country and taking it all in...” After the dictation was over, the participants took a photo together for memory, but were in no hurry to leave, discussing the complexities of the text and recalling the beauty of their native parts of Ukraine.
