Departments
History of the School

School of Market, Information and Innovative Technologies (Cherkasy Campus) was founded in accordance with the Order of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 99 from February 10, 2004 based on the appeal of Cherkasy Regional State Administration (letter № 141/01-36 from January 27, 2004). It operates under “The Regulations on the School” approved by the Order of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 99 from February 10, 2004 and the order of Rector of Kyiv National University of technologies and Design № 43 from February 13, 2004.

Enrollment of students in the Programs 123 “Computer Engineering”, 051 “Economics”, 182 “Light Industry Technologies” and 022 “Design” is based on the license given to the University.

Training is provided by a highly qualified teaching staff of three Departments: Department of Information and Computer Technologies and Sciences, Department of Arts and Light Industry Technologies and Department of Economics.

Training is carried out according to the approved curriculum of the disciplines and the educational process schedule.

School library has more than 8215 items of textbooks and about 25000 teaching manuals in electronic form. There is a reading hall for 50 persons in the library.

Students enrolled in the program “Design” have an opportunity to use special programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Arch cad, Auto CAD, Corel Draw, Art Con, 3D Studio Max.

Lecturing Rooms and specialized classrooms have multimedia equipment. Three design studios are equipped with 82 easels and sketch-boards, plaster models and lighting. Two sewing classroms are equipped with sewing machines Janome in the required quantity, over lock sewing machine Janome, steam generating station, tailor’s dummies and dressing rooms.

There is a computer network connected to the electronic library with the access to the Internet. It includes 95 workstations (81 PCs in computer classes and 14 in other rooms and facilities).

Aim of the program:

To form and develop general and professional competences in the field of Informatics and Computing aimed at obtaining of knowledge and skills to solve problems of analysis and synthesis of complex systems on the basis of advanced information technologies and using modern achievements of sciences and engineering.

Learning outcomes:

Ability to demonstrate:
-         Basic knowledge of Philosophy, Psychology, Pedagogy to enhance the level of general culture and socialization of personality with  aesthetic values and ability to apply them in professional and social activity;

-         Basic knowledge of Fundamental and Applied Mathematics and the ability to apply them in their professional activities;

-         Knowledge of Programming principles, Techniques in modern programming languages, basic data sets;

-         Knowledge of computer architecture, ability to apply them in engineering and operation;

-         Knowledge of basics in circuit design for modern computers;

-         Knowledge of Systemic programming peculiarities;

-         Knowledge of systemic software design peculiarities and general principles of organization and functioning of operating systems;

-         Knowledge of organizational, technical, algorithmic and other methods and techniques of CSN information security in accordance with legislation norms and regulations,  standards in the field, with modern cryptosystems and ability to apply them in their professional activity;

-         Knowledge of modern technologies and engineering tools for developing complex software systems (software engineering), ability to apply them at all stages of lifecycle development;

-         Knowledge of life safety issues and labor protection, ability to observe them in professional activity;

Aim of the program:

To form and develop general and professional competences in design (within different objects of professional activity) aimed at obtaining of knowledge and skills to work in design and to develop design objects, to learn techniques of artistic, cultural, structural and functional, technological design specifications of a particular 3D object and complex design object or design project.

Learning outcomes:

Upon completion of the study program the student will demonstrate:

  3. Proficiency in arranging graphic design environment and ability to work with different materials and tools

Aim of the program:

To form and develop general and professional competences in the field of garment manufacturing aimed at obtaining knowledge and skills to design competitive sewing products and advanced manufacturing processes of sewing as well as ability for further education.

Learning outcomes:

1. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the processes fundamentals in filament, adhesive and welded joints; wet and heat steaming of wares, key influence factors and laws of their interaction.

2. Competence in conducting pilot research of seam quality and wet and heat steaming to identify rational operation mode.

3. Competence in making technical drawings and using findings: patterns printing and their transfer to be used in compatible computer programs in technical documentation and presentation of technological decisions.

4. Competence in designing new clothes patterns using CAD elements to implement them in production.

5. Computing skills in solving productions tasks.

6. Skills that ensure competent participation in solving production tasks related to garment quality assurance technology.

7. Competence in using standardized methods of raw materials composition analysis for garments; to be competent in distinguishing materials of different composition, their manufacturing processes and purpose; to identify fibers properties in origin and structure; to assess impact of different factors (chemicals concentration, dyes, temperature, etc.) on technological process; to determine formaldehyde content in textile, to choose optimal evaluation methods for fibrous content of textile.

8. Skills in determining anthropometric characteristics of stature to design clothes; checking the correctness of design drawings of details for clothing of various purposes; working in an environment of modern CADs.

9. Competence in choosing proper type of sewing machine depending on the characteristics and properties of materials and types of clothing.

 

Scientific Schools

The School research focus is within the spectrum of research at School of Market, Information and Innovative Technologies of the Kyiv National University for Technologies and Design: № 9 “Cultural studies, aesthetics, structural and functional issues in design from the vantage point of ethnic culture, ecology and human life support system” (Department of Arts and Light Industry Technologies); 3.2.1. “Economy of industries” (Department of Economics), 1.2.8.3. «Development of New Information Technologies on the Basis of Electric, Magnetic and Optical Signals Measuring and Their Temporal and Spatial Analysis» (Department of Information and Computer Technologies and Sciences).

International Cooperation

School of Market, Information and Innovative Technologies has established partnerships with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Department members take part in internship programs at the University of Warsaw (Poland).

Students

Students of the Department are involved in scientific work through their participation in scientific clubs “New Paradigm” (Department of Economics), “Psychological, ethical and linguistic aspects of professional communication” (Department of Arts and Light Industry Technologies), “Research of modern information technologies” (Department of Information and Computer Technologies and Sciences). The goal of scientific clubs is to develop intellectual potential of a personality.

Students have the opportunity to implement their ideas, create individual and group collections of clothes as well as participate in students’ contests and scientific conferences.

Student M. Chabanenko, enrolled in the program “Design” won the first prize in the nomination “Fine, decorative and applied art” at the International children and youth creativity festival “Lytovska feyeriya” held in Vilnius, January 13-17, 2016.

 

 

In March 2014, KNUTD main building hosted the exhibition "10 years of Cherkasy School of Market, Information and Innovative Technologies". Students and faculty of the School presented their creativity work pieces.

 

Student N.Orlova and her collection of decorations “Nature and Art” won the first prize at the XIVth International contest of young designers in the nomination “Decorations”.
