Preparing a paper
FOR AUTHORS’ INFORMATION
Editorial Board of journal “Visnyk of KNUTD” accepts for consideration research papers into research data and scientific and technical developments carried out by KNUTD scientists. Papers of scientists from other HEI and establishments are considered by Editorial Board in the case of receiving a positive review only. Papers of authors from the abroad are accepted in Russian.
Author (or a group of authors) pays a publishing fee of 15 hryvnas per journal page and receives a copy of a journal with his/her (or their) article.
Rules for submission of paper manuscript
For publication authors submit to editorial office:
1. Digital copy of the paper (on a CD-ROM). File must have such title as (in English): NAME (author of the paper) Stat. Example: Karpenko_Stat
2. Paper manuscript (two print-outs signed by authors). One copy is for editing and reviewing (for scientists of other HEI).
3. Digital copy of the paper summary in Russian. Summary file must be named (in English) as: NAME (author of the paper) Anot_rus. Example: Karpenko_Anot_rus

4. Digital copy of the paper summary in English. Summary file must be named (in English) as: NAME (author of the paper) Anot_engl. Example: Karpenko_Anot_engl.

5. Authors’ personal details in Russian – digital and hard copies. The file must be named NAME (author of the paper) Inform_engl. Example: Karpenko_Inform_engl.
Authors’ personal details must contain: full first name and surname, academic degree, position (appointment), names of institution and department, research interests, contacts (phone numbers, home address).
6. Expert resolution signed by the secretary of expert commission in the research direction.
7. Review of the paper signed by a Doctor of Sciences in the research direction (the sign must be duly certified by the establishment or institution).
8. A billing document confirming payment of the publishing fee. The paper won’t be published without a payment of the publishing fee.
9. Application to the Editorial Board for the paper publishing
The manuscript, summaries, author’s personal details, CD-ROM are presented to the Editorial Board in clear folder
How to prepare your paper for “Visnyk of KNUTD” (“KNUTD Proceedings”)
Paper structure
A paper must be divided into subsections with titles. All subsections are set in italics and bold type, separate line, 10 px (besides “Introduction” subsection, where the title is not written, and “REFERENCES” subsection, which title is written in capital letters, 10 px).
First subsection (paragraph) of a paper is a summary in Ukrainian (up to 5 lines), text is set in Times New Roman type, italics, 10 px, line spacing is single.
A standard paper of the article should contain such subsections (in the listed order):
“Introduction” subsection (a problem rising in a general view and its connection with important practical tasks).
“Study objects and methods” subsection (an analysis of latest researches and publications initiating the problem raising and at which an author relies on; marking out unsolved earlier parts of the general problem that the paper is devoted to).
“Problem stating” subsection (definition of the paper goal).
“Results and discussions” subsection (research general data).
“Conclusions” subsection (conclusions of the research and prospective explorations).
“REFERENCES” subsection.
Paper volume:
- Review and generalizing type – 10 pages of A4 format;
- Problem type – no longer than 6 pages of A4 format;
- Research task solving – no longer than 5 pages of A4 format;
- Short report about achieved results – no longer than 3 pages of A4 format.
Manuscripts exceeding mentioned volumes are not considered
1. A paper must have generally accepted structure:
- A paper starts with УДК index (Times New Roman type, 12 px, in the upper left corner of a leaf);
- Paper title (in capital letters of bold type, Times New Roman type, 12 px, in the middle);
Author’s initials and surname (in capital letters, Times New Roman type, 10 px, in the middle)
Full name of the institution where author works (Times New Roman type, 8 px, in the middle)
- Page Setup:
Size – A4 (210х297 mm)
Page orientation – portrait (landscape is not allowed)
Margins – 2.5 cm
Catchwords – 1.25 cm
Without pagination.
- Text is Times New Roman (Cyrilic) type, 10 px.
Certain words can be marked with:
Bold, italics, underlining;
Interval change between symbols;
Superscripts and subscripts.
Coloured marking is not allowable.
- Paragraph:
Left and right indent is 0 cm;
First line indentation is 1.25 cm;
Intervals before and after paragraph is 0 cm;
Line spacing is 1.5;
Justification.
2. Pictures. For picture creation all possible means are acceptable. But in a document picture must have “Position - In text” format. Captions are made with bold lower case characters, 10 px. Pictures should be numbered. If a paper has one picture, caption doesn’t contain a word “pic.” and there is no full stop at the end.
3. Tables are created with Microsoft Word.
Title and the word “Table” are written in one line in the middle. The title is in bold type, 10 px. Tables should be numbered.

4. Formulae are typed with an equation editor Equation 3.0. An equation and its number are placed with help of tabulation. The formula is situated in the centre; its number is at the edge of a margin.

Papers are accepted on new CD-ROMS
- Formula writing must be legible – index belonging is understandable; fractions and brackets are got up properly with spaces between them.
- A way of writing such letters as “J”, “I”, “l, L” and a figure “1” (one); a letter “O” and a figure “0” (nought) must differ.
In italics only Latin are written (cos, sin, max, min etc. are not marked with italics).
5. List of references is placed at the end of a paper, numbered according to the order in the text and should correspond with ГОСТ 7.1-84. References should be indicated in the text by a number in square brackets. References at unpublished works are not allowed.
