Signing of Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design

On November 3, 2016 in Kyiv National University of Technology and Design was held a round table related to the results of the REPIC Project "Enhance energy efficiency of the housing stock in Ukraine (EEEU) through energy performance certificates", that was implemented with the support of the interdepartmental platform REPIC (promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency in international cooperation of SECO, SDC and FOEN), the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland, ICC, intend to establish a long term relationship to advance developments and to maintain appropriate communication through visits and regular contacts.

The round table has been opened by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Kyiv National University of Technology and Design Prof. Dr. Viktor Kaplun.

The main speakers were the following:

Dr. Arch. Massimo Mobiglia, Arch. Davide Tamborini - University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) - the Institute of Applied Sustainability to the Build Environment.

Irina Zapatrina - the Chairman of the Board of Ukrainian Public - Private Partnership Development Support Center.

Vadim Litvin – the Head of Educational Center for Energy Audit and Energy Management of The Association of Energy Auditors of Ukraine.

Anatolii Kozlenko – the Head of the Commission «green economy» and environmental investment of ICC Ukraine, Director of the Energy Efficiency Management Center of Kiev National University of Technology and Design

The culmination of the round table was the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The main aim of this Memorandum is to define the development of the educational, scientific and technical cooperation program on issues related to the sustainability of the built environment for increasing energy efficiency (EE) and promoting new energy consuming culture in the society; enhancing the expertise and skills of the public sector through the exchange of information, experiences and joint scientific research, training programs, dissemination of knowledge about modern trends and new methodologies, and technical assistance to projects in the field of energy efficiency.

Two Sides of the Memorandum have also agreed to: create a joint training course for energy managers; collaborate in the area which includes providing the energy certification of buildings of the university; development of the thermal modernisation project for one of the University’s buildings using Swiss technologies; provide an exchange of students and scientists; participate in the development of the National Program "Energy Efficient Universities".
